Make Your Own Window Garden

How to Make a Self Watering Garden, By TDownward from eHow

Step #1. Cut the soda bottle about three inches from the bottom. Keep all parts of the bottle, including the caps.

Step #2. Fill the bottom section of the soda bottle almost to the top with the soil. Water the soil until moist, but not watery.

Step #3. Using your thumb, press an indent about the depth of your thumb into the soil. Place 2-3 seeds in the hole. Cover the seeds with the soil.

Step #4. Place the top of the bottle, with the cap in place, back on the bottom of the bottle so that the bottle looks like it did before you cut it. Use the duct tape to tape the bottle back together, ensuring that the bottle is "air tight".

Step #5. Set the bottle in a window that gets some sun, and wait patiently. The seeds should germinate, and begin to grow. Your plant can stay in the bottle for as long as you like without needing to be watered!
