Perhaps one of Chicago’s most famous stores, the Alley is a rock’n’roll institution that recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. This 3-floor store is a Chicago Icon, offering punk, metal, and gothic clothes for men, women, and babies. The store stocks 6,000-8,000 active items, including the latest rock'n'roll T-shirts, leather motorcycle jackets, shoes, posters, and jewelry, as well as a myriad of other products geared to "alternative" shoppers. A piercing studio in the store performs safe, licensed, and ethical piercings and offers a wide selection of surgical grade body jewelry. The Alley's newest addition, a state-of-the-line tattoo parlor, is anticipated to open in the late spring/early summer of 2008.
